One of the best discussions of Pelagius and his story occurs in
"The Offshore Islanders: A HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH PEOPLE" (1972).
This excellent book is once again by the historian Paul Johnson.
I think Pelagius was no kind of heretic in Christian terms.
